While working for Better Bankside Valerie oversaw the day to day delivery of  its innovative public realm strategy Bankside Urban Forest.

Valerie managed the steering group for the project and was responsible for horizon scanning project opportunities, identifying funding sources, building the business case for projects and commissioning or co-commissioning with project partners a wide range of public realm, green infrastructure and cultural placemaking projects.

During her tenure in Better Bankside Valerie was responsible for raising over £5m investment in projects from a range of sources including the Greater London Authority, Transport for London and Southwark Council.
